Dr. Jacelon is a graduate of Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College). Her Master of Science in
Neurologic Rehabilitation Nursing was awarded by Boston University School of Nursing, Boston, Massachusetts and her Doctoral degree is from New York University School of Education, Division of Nursing. A post doctoral fellowship from Yale Univeristy School of Nursing focused on Self and Family Management for Vulnerable Populations. Dr. Jacelon's work has been primarily in the areas of rehabilitation and gerontological nursing. Her research has focused on the concept of dignity. She developed a grounded theory on this topic and has been invetigating and publishing on the topic of dignity in older populations for several years. She is on a collaborative research team that is co-creating and evaluating technology to promote independent living and enhancing social networks of older adults.
