Abstract

This paper describes the results of a project for tourism distance students in learning and practicing French as Foreign Language thank Virtual Reality, and more specifically through the use of the virtual space: Mozilla Hubs. The project was applied through weekly practices during the year 2022 at the University UTPL, in Ecuador. The perception of the students was measured about the ease of use and usefulness of Mozilla Hubs in their French Language Practices. 16 students were involved in the project but 10 answered the post-test based on the TAM model. The main problem with the use of virtual spaces for Ecuadorian students was the lack of connectivity, especially for the ones living far away from the main cities of the country. For the 10 students who answered the final test, Mozilla Hubs makes a positive contribution to their French Learning. In terms of acceptance, the majority of students completely agreed that Mozilla Hubs is useful, easy to use, and enjoyable to learn new foreign languages.
