Abstract
Well-being has been highly emphasised at the global scale, forming an integral part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Since humans spend most of their time indoors, assessment of the physical design of Malaysian juvenile institutions from the juveniles’ perspectives is necessary for understanding the satisfaction level and well-being of the adolescent occupants that spend the majority of their time within. This study presents observations of a Post-Occupancy Evaluation (POE) conducted at juvenile institutions in Peninsular Malaysia consisting of six approved schools (Sekolah Tunas Bakti-STB), and seven probation hostels (Asrama Akhlak-AA).
