Abstract
Design inscription processes–in the form of design theorization and methods–result in a series of artifacts that have been useful in the development of systems that automate various operations of the design process. A critical analysis of the relationship between inscription processes and design automation processes can be a way to question the assumptions that sustain a particular concept of design, and also, can be helpful to render visible the influence of design crafting technologies–like design software and hardware–in the very understanding of what design is.
