Designing for Culturally Diverse Audiences: Developing Student Competencies through Cross-cultural Remote-practice Workshops

Abstract

This paper presents ongoing research, produced for and through a community of educational design practitioners in remote practice. The aim of the broader research is to better understand and iterate on pedagogical approaches that allow higher education design graduates to flourish in contemporary environments, in consideration of the extensive and substantial changes happening in our world. Specifically, the aim is to contribute towards enhancing emerging designers’ capacity to be able to manage professional practice in rich multicultural, technology centered contemporary environments.
