Abstract

Educational systems globally are under increasing pressure. The significant and ongoing environmental, social, political, cultural, and economic changes witnessed globally necessitate a shift in “how” learning is conceptualized and facilitated, especially if, as often attributed to Einstein, we hold the view that “insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” In this special edition, we, as educators, ask ourselves what is needed to influence change or indeed transformation. We interrogate what we are doing in our personal and professional practice and why it’s important. Turning the lens on our practice to share our learnings, we appreciate the differing perspectives contributed through an interdisciplinary approach.
